 56-year old women with a 2-year history of nail dystrophy combined with local dermatitis and destruction of nail cuticulae.
Treatment with systemic antimycotica for 1 month has been without effect.
No other skin manifestation.

Psoriasis nail characterized by distal onycholysis (loosening of the nail) due to subungual hyperkeratosis associated with Beau lines (transverse nail splitting) with local acrodermatitis.
Treatment with systemic antiproliferative agens such as Methotrexat may be needed as topical treatment with local steroids is often ineffective. Investigation for nail onychophytosis is mandatoric for all cases and must be excluded. |
